Acupuncture treatment is not a cure-all for every ailment, and it might not be the most effective treatment for every pet or for every disease process.  Often, depending on the ailment, three or more acupuncture sessions may be necessary before improvement is noted.

Animals react differently to an acupuncture treatment.  Many will be sleepier than normal the day after treatment.  Occasionally, a problem could appear slightly worse (especially immediately following treatment) before it gets better.

The first evaluation and acupuncture session may take as long as 90 minutes.  Payment is due when services are rendered.

Fees vary based on travel distance and treatments; an in-home acupuncture session generally ranges from $75-90.

Since Chinese veterinary medical diagnoses  take many life-factors into account, questions might not seem immediately relevant, such as:
how your pet gets along with other family members
where he likes to sleep
at what time during the day his ailment is the worst

Answers will be helpful in assessing your pet as a whole and determining which treatments will be most beneficial.  The veterinarian will then examine the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and tongue, and evaluate the pulses of your pet.

Next, your pet will have an examination that involves feeling of the whole body and specific acupuncture points.  Once a diagnosis has been made, a treatment plan will be developed that could include acupuncture, herbal treatment, massage, or changes in diet.  You may be shown some specific massage techniques (Tui-na) that you can continue as a part of his treatment as well.

Compassionate, respectful acupuncture treatment for pets in the comfort of home.
